The year 2001 was important in the sense that for the first time ever the University wide master plan for development was initiated by Rutger. The objective was to plan and facilitate the academic mission of the University with the physical growth of Infrastructure and the facilities inherent within.

Almost simultaneously the development plans and project of Sri Sitaram Vaidic Adarsha Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya was launched, though on a very very small scale. The vision was to keep in mind the steps connected to the cultural heritage of the land and the mother land, the environment of the campus and the financial resource and support, vis-a-vis the developmental plans.

It is significantly important and interesting to observe that the ideals that Inspired Thakur Sri Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath Dev, in whose name this institution is named, also reverberates the very atmosphere of this College. Thakur's love and concern for Sanskrit is reflected in every human and pebble of college which manifests in so many ways.

Apart from class room teachings, the staff of the Mahavidyalaya have participated in the monitoring of voluntary organization committed to the Sanskrit learning along with Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. The Sales Counter of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has done a great job by making it convenient for the scholars and lovers of Sanskrit to procure valuable books of Sanskrit at subsidized rates, almost at door step.

Max Muller remarked "If I were to look over the whole world to find out the country most richly endowed with all the wealth, power, and beauty that nature can bestow in some parts a very paradise on earth, I should point to India. If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions of some of them which well deserve the attention even of those who have studied Plato and Kant,I should point to India. And if I were to ask myself from what literature we, here in Europe, we who have been nurtured almost exclusively on the thoughts of Greeks and Romans, and of one Semitic race, the Jewish, may draw that corrective which is most wanted in order to make our inner life more perfect, more comprehensive, more universal, in fact more truly human, a life, not for this life only, but a transfigured and eternal life again I should point to India."

Similar observations were made by Arnold Toynbee - "It is already becoming clear that a chapter which had a Western beginning will have to have an Indian ending if it is not to end in the self-destruction of the human race. At this supremely dangerous moment in human history, the only way of salvation for mankind is the Indian way, Emperor Ashoka's and Mahatma Gandhi's principle of non-violence and Sri Ramakrishna's testimony to the harmony of religions. Here we have an attitude and spirit that can make it possible for the human race to grow together into a single family and, in the Atomic Age, this is the only alternative to destroying ourselves."

The students of Sri Sitaram Vaidic Adarsha Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, the value based Indian Educational heritage and temple of learning is standing at the cross road of sheer contrast between extreme perfectionist infrastructure and regulations of modern university requirements and the humanist gentle care given to the road side trees. They are visualizing the verse of the 3rd chapter of Bhagwadgita, where Arjuna asks Lord Krishna "O Krishna, by what impelled does a man get engaged in sinful activity against his own will, as if goaded by force?" This is the most important problem of human life. Education must help us to discriminate between right and wrong actions.

The effort of Sri Sitaram Vaidic Adarsha Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya is to help the Students take and develop the best of the West but shed the least of the East. So as to from a human resource which will constitute the group of Doers and not just Takers.
